Yes we are 100% dreaming about summer already… only 1.5 months of winter to go right?!
There’s nothing better than a summer’s afternoon lounging by the pool with a cocktail in hand, but we don’t all have the backyard space for a pool and the reality is that homes and backyards are becoming smaller and smaller.
So you want the Australian dream of your own pool but think you don’t have room? That’s where the plunge pool is your new best friend!
TOP TIPS
1 - Hire an amazing pool designer/builder and/or landscape architect/designer (and check out their plunge pool work first).
2 - Think about a free form concrete pool as this may allow for more design options and there is a possibility that it could sit closer to your house and/or boundary walls.
3 - A pre-fabricated pool can be a more cost and time effective solution and they come is some great sizes and shapes.
4 - Definitely opt for a seat/ledge in your design. Because it’s not a pool you’ll be swimming laps in, you want it to be ‘lounge friendly’.
5 - Heating is a must, because who doesn’t want to use their pool all year round!
6 - Tile choice is key to the overall look and feel. Do you want moody and dark? Clear and bright? Gorgeous blue? Do your research!
