Online interior and homewares brand Zanui has released a new online series entitled ‘At Home With’ which is showcasing the homes of some of Australia’s favourite celebrities, which have been newly styled by Zanui.

One of the first homes Zanui has transformed is of Australia’s former Bachelorette, Georgia Love and partner, Lee Elliot. Through Zanui’s wide range of high-quality products and their impressive selection of brands that suit and match all styles, they were able to help Georgia and Lee bring their own style to life as they moved into their new abode.

“We could put certain items together, but it was the styling and those finishing touches that we needed help with to really bring it all together. We both have very individual styles so it was really fun to work out what our style was through Zanui’s offering and thanks to their expertise,” said Georgia and Lee about the experience.

Stylist Fiona Michelon, who worked with Georgia and Lee to uncover their style and find the right pieces, says “It was exciting being involved in this project and getting to know each couple and their individual styles to help them bring their new space together. I loved being able to combine their styles to create a new and unique look that suited them as a couple in their home and being able to tap into Zanui’s amazing range made my job all the more fun.”

Watch Georgia and Lee’s ‘At Home With’ video below to receive some expert tips of how to style your home like a pro and how to re-create Georgia and Lee’s look in your own home. See the full ‘At Home With’ series on Zanui’s website here.

How to decorate the perfect Christmas Tree with Balsam Hill…

I can’t believe that Christmas is literally just around the corner, 33 sleeps to be exact and you know what that means - it’s time to get your Christmas Tree decorating on!

With so many options for trees, decorations, baubles, lights, stars, wreaths, garlands it can be overwhelming.

So here are my top tips for creating a stand out tree…

What’s your Christmas Style?

Once you have decided on your festive style it will make shopping and decorating so much easier! Are you a minimalist, do you like a natural look, are you a traditionalist, do you love all the bells and whistles? Choose something that works well with the style of your home and stick with it.

Lights, Lights, Lights

Lighting up your Christmas tree will give it that extra bit of festive magic! Some people only use lights to decorate their tress, some trees come with lights already as part of the tree (life changing!), adding a touch of sparkle will complete your Christmas look and you will love switching it on in the evening and watching it glow.

I was lucky enough to style the amazing Canadian Blue Spruce Quick Set Tree from Balsam Hill which comes with lights already intertwined and can I just say that it’s gorgeous and SO much easier not having to wind fairy lights around it yourself!

What is your colour scheme?

This comes down to personal preference… are you a festive green and red type? Are you all about the metallic? Are you inspired to take on a challenge and go frosty and white this year? Or choose a trendy look of pastels or copper?

All options are beautiful and with so many choices available you can literally do anything that your heart desires! This year I have chosen a colour scheme of metallic silver and gold – it kept the overall look of my tree paired back to match my personal style , but it’s still sparkly and gorgeous! I used Balsam Hill Silver & Gold Glass Ornament Set and Metallic Berry Picks in Champagne to achieve this look.

The finishing details

Think about the extra elements that will really finish off your tree. Adding a star or a Christmas tree topper will add extra personality and sparkle to your tree, I loved using Balsam Hill’s Double Sided Mirrored Star Tree Topper to complete my look, it worked perfectly with the silver and gold theme I chose.

And don’t forget the bottom of the tree, covering up the stand will make your whole set up look 100% better. There are so many options to choose from nowadays… skirts, collars and stands! To keep my look understated I chose the Woven Tree Collar from Balsam Hill – it’s hand woven and creates a rustic textured backdrop for the presents under the tree which I love.

Find the perfect spot

Choose a position that is pride of place – when you have spent so much time making this tree beautiful it needs to be admired! A spot in front of the window is perfect as it ensures that it can be admired from outside too, especially gorgeous at night with the twinkling lights on!

Over the next week a whole group of stylists and bloggers will be sharing their Christmas tree decorating tips, tricks and hacks… follow along here:

And what we love the most - a with all Nest’s products, it has a minimalist sleek design which means that it fits seamlessly into any room – for a security camera it is a true interior dream.

Key features include:

Facial recognition — It can differentiate between a person and your pet. You will receive a phone alert if it sees a family member – or a stranger.

New Sleepwear Collection by IN BED

One of our favourite bed linen and homewares labels IN BED has just launched it’s latest sleepwear collection and we LOVE. Launching not only new styles for women, but a dedicated range for men for the first time, the collection follows the brands ethos of understated luxury.

The mens sleepwear collection includes linen button up shirts and shorts with the new styles coming in a crisp white and earthy khaki. Whilst the new pieces are part of the sleepwear offering, they have been specifically designed to also be worn casually in or outside the house and will be perfect on a hot summers day at the beach.

“We decided to do men’s sleepwear mainly due to high demand! It has always been something we intended on doing, but since we opened our Paddington store and had face-to-face connection with our customer base, we have really noticed a steady stream of guys wanting us to create sleepwear for them as well. Along with this my husband Eddie (also our GM) has been hounding us to make them for ages, so he’s the driving force behind it!”, says founder Pip Vassett.

The existing womenswear range has been expanded to include beautiful loose fitting linen slip dresses as well as light weight waffle cotton and ribbed cotton singlets, tees and shorts for the first time. The linen styles will be available in store and online from early November with the cotton styles launching in early December.

And what we love even more is that throughout November 10% of the profits from the sales of the women’s sleepwear will be donated to the Women’s Community Shelter, a local charity organisation which establishes and operates emergency crisis accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence and homelessness, across NSW.

IN BED is proud to be working with Women’s Community Shelter and to be able to support them with fundraisers such as this as well as regularly donating sets of bed linen to women and children in need arriving and staying at the shelter.

Summer Fun with The Print Society

The Print Society is a design studio that produces a range of homewares and objects with bold, modernistic and geometric hand printed designs. With a focus on pattern, colour and texture, The Print Society merges modern methods with India’s age-old craft traditions to create pieces with an adventurous spirit.

Founder and designer of The Print Society, Karen was inspired after her adventure to India. It was here that she saw ancient wisdom and traditional techniques, the finest materials and metallic threads being used to create pieces of art.

The Print Society's current range invites you to step into the desert. A barren land where earthy terracotta tones celebrate the outback’s dusty terrains.

Launching in Melbourne in August, the S/S 2018 collection includes textile wall hangings, acrylic boxed framed paper prints on recycled cotton fabric.  “Think purple haze and mist, mysterious portals and folklore,” says Karen.

Real Living brings the Amalfi Coast to The Daily Edited flagship store...

Australia’s fastest-growing Homes magazine Real Living has announced a unique collaboration with popular Australian accessories label, The Daily Edited (TDE)… the people responsible for all the absolutely stunning monogrammed bags and accessories you see around!

In a one-of-a-kind partnership, the style experts at Real Living have designed and executed a stunning interiors concept within The Daily Edited’s Sydney flagship store. Revealed in the November issue and on sale now, the Real Living X TDE fit-out coincides with TDE’s new season collections and draws inspiration from summer’s hottest interiors trends.

Last year, TDE expanded their retail presence to open two flagship stores, in Sydney and Melbourne. Homed inside Westfield Sydney in the CBD, the TDE store is laid out like an apartment, allowing the Real Living team to design, create and make it their own. The store transports the consumer to Italy’s stunning Amalfi Coast, and is a showcase of the relaxed, holiday vibe woven through Real Living’s latest issue.

Real Living Editor, Elle Lovelock, commented; “Coastal Italy is trending right now, which you’ll see from the fruit motifs on TDE’s new collection and the Positano vibes within Real Living’s November Entertaining issue. We translated this into the TDE Apartment by styling with suntan hues, wrinkly linens, hand painted dinnerware and LOTS of citrus fruit! The aesthetic is inspirational, lush, and it makes you want to party. If Aperol Spritz was an interior style, this is what it would look like.”

The Real Living X TDE Apartment will be in store until November 12th at TDE Store, Level 4, Westfield Sydney.

Yeseco... Eco Solutions for Everyday Essentials

Yeseco is the Australian Eco brand striving to reduce unnecessary plastic waste.

It’s a terrifying thought that in the last 10 years alone, we have produced more plastic than in the last century. And with less than 5% of plastics being recycled worldwide, there’s a very confronting reality ahead of us.

Sometimes the challenge seems so big; it’s hard to know where to start. Well, for design specialist Jamie Phillips, it was about creating a solution rather than just talking about one. So he took it upon himself to launch Yesēco: a privately owned company who strives to reduce unnecessary plastic waste by creating eco alternatives for your home.

The first target? The kitchen.

“I wanted to make a difference,” said Phillips. “I wanted to be part of the solution rather than just talking about what was wrong with the world. I realised consumers aren’t the problem; it was the lack of alternatives in the market. I wanted to start solving small problems on a big scale. The idea for Yesēco came from my own frustration of seeing my kitchen bench covered with unnecessary plastic items that would taint the environment forever.”

Yesēco Kitchen Essentials Kit is made from 100% natural, biodegradable and compostable materials and has all of the washing up and cleaning tools you need, including:

1 x Bamboo Bench Organiser

2 x Bamboo & Sisal Fibre Dish Brushes

1 x Broomcorn Scouring Brush

4 x Woodpulp Expanding Sponges

1 x Hemp & Organic Cotton Tea Towel

Stylish and considered, Phillips says he wanted something that could sit out on a benchtop and complement a range of household styles.

“It might seem like a small gesture, but every household and office has a kitchen, and it’s something small that can work towards a bigger solution.”

StylecraftHOME'S new Melbourne Showroom...

StylecraftHOME Melbourne Showroom_Photo credit Nicole England_09.jpg

StylecraftHOME Melbourne is set to become a new favourite destination for premium residential furniture, lighting and accessories.

StylecraftHOME launched in February 2017 in Sydney with the opening of its first dedicated showroom. The design community quickly embraced StylecraftHOME as a first choice for luxurious furniture and lighting, spurring the rapid growth and development of the brand and the opening of a second StylecraftHOME showroom in Melbourne CBD.

Centrally located on Flinders Lane and surrounded by other exclusive luxury retailers, StylecraftHOME is in the historic building that has long been home to Stylecraft. Having expanded upward into the building, the StylecraftHOME residential collection is displayed on the lower two levels, and Stylecraft’s commercial collection on the three floors above.

HASSELL designed the fit out, adapting the airy, blush-toned aesthetic of the Sydney showroom to the character of the iconic building and Melbourne design community. Described as luxe industrial, the space features a portico with copper archways that encircles the central staircase and evokes a European courtyard. Gold bannisters are draped with greenery, floors are terrazzo and white mesh screens define more intimate settings.

“StylecraftHOME offers us the opportunity to delve deeper into our international and local collections to feature otherwise unseen pieces alongside familiar classics reimagined for the home environment,” says Tony Russell, StylecraftHOME Brand Director.

The new Melbourne showroom is located at 145 Flinders Lane, Melbourne.

Living through a renovation - The life saving Hoover React Advantage Handstick

I have lived on many a building site and let me tell you that it is not at all glamorous… my Instagram pics may suggest that I’m having a great old time but constantly walking dirt, dust, concrete, saw dust and everything else into the house is tedious to say the least.

Which is why I am so lucky to have been able to review the Hoover React Advantage Handstick from Godfreys and I promise you that when I say that it is a life saver, I mean it! How did I ever get through the day not having a cordless vacuum cleaner? It is actually a miracle, especially for someone who has to vacuum multiple times a day… that dust just doesn’t give up!

Apart from it being cordless, my favourite feature is the FloorSense™ Technology. Floorsense means that it instinctively detects a change in floor type and changes the brush roll speed automatically for optimum cleaning performance. Tiles, floorboards, carpet, concrete - it just knows, and isn’t convenience all we ever want these days?!

Easily and effectively tackle deeply embedded dirt and dust with the specially designed WindTunnel SurgeTM, it’s quite amazing how much this beast picks up (especially when you thought your carpet was actually quite clean!).

It has a 23 minute battery life to easily vacuum your house - and as a special offer, for a limited time when you buy a Hoover React Advantage Handstick you will also receive a bonus battery for FREE valued at $149.95! So you will always be charged and ready vacuum!

Botanical styling made easy with Lily Urban...

Lily Urban - Changing the face of faux, one pot at a time.

Lily Urban is a boutique, botanical inspired décor business that creates potted faux indoor plants & botanical accessories. Their designer potted faux plant collections are an essential homewares accessory for all people living crazy, busy lives who love a touch of indoor greenery.

Lily Urban are not your typical potted artificial plant business. They don't mass produce generic, fake looking plants in ordinary pots, they create botanical beauties that are uniquely different.....curated & made to order using only first class faux and each one comes styled in a beautiful, handmade vessel.

"It started with a home renovation….

Having completed a major extension, we continually had people unexpectedly dropping-in for a bit of a look and although the building was done, our fit-out wasn’t yet complete, we still needed furniture and other key pieces to make it a home. So to give it the quick lift it needed to make it more inviting, botanical's were my first thought!

With fresh flowers not lasting long, and knowing that the quality of artificial's had dramatically improved since 'my gran's days', I knew that this could be the thing to fill the void.

With many compliments from friends at my new faux botanical's (one even asked if they were from my garden!) and repeated queries about where I got them from, I looked into sourcing and started selling locally through word of mouth.

Fast forward a few years and house plants had started to explode in popularity, mainly because of our crazy, busy, urban lifestyles along with shrinking backyards and the growth in medium/high density apartment living. And all of these reasons meant the desire for indoor garden sanctuaries was on the rise.

Identifying a gap in the market for high-end potted faux botanical's, I turned my attention to plants. My idea was to create a designer potted faux botanical collection that appealed to people with an eye for quality.

Blown away by the life-like features of some species but hugely disappointed in the quality and style of vessels they were displayed in, I decided to source, curate and pot up my own... and so started my journey to 'change the face of faux, one pot at a time...'"

HOW TO: Get the Bohemian Look In Your Home

If you have always wanted to achieve that sought-after Bohemian look for your bedroom, or even for a stylish addition to your home, we have a selection of stunning products from ZanuiLaForma and BlackArrow to help you get started!

TOP TIPS - to create the Bohemian look in your home by the BlackArrow Co girls, Jessi Deakin and Sarah Yarrow.

Break the rules. You don’t need to coordinate every colour, piece or pattern. Don’t be afraid to improvise - the more the merrier (to an extent)! Layers of texture, patterns and colours is what makes it so eclectic and charming! The key is knowing when to stop and pull back so as to not have every single piece overpowering the next. You want to ensure key elements are still able to stand out and act as a focal point in the greater scheme.

Create a story. Choose colours, patterns and textiles that have a history and tell a story. The bohemian style is all about global-inspired and collected elements. Pair treasures from your travels with vintage Moroccan rugs and cushions to nail the spirit of Bohemia!

Get creative with your wall art. The traditional framed artwork certainly has its place in the bohemian home, but you can mix things up and take your bohemian vibe to the next level by adding other types of wall art such as shell necklaces, macrame wall hangings, rattan display shelves and Juju Hats.
