Home Tour - Foote House by McKimm

Foote House by McKimm

There is so much to love about Foote House #project341 by McKimm - be it the stunning black and marble kitchen with over sized linear pendant light (above), the modern and super luxurious bathrooms or the fact the whole house was created in a U shape around the mind blowingly beautiful pool, so you can catch a glimpse of the glistening water from all angles and many rooms.

Material selection is key to this home being an absolute stand out, McKimm's use of concrete, feature brickwork and timber have been layered with architectural finesse, creating a different textural experience at every turn.

We would love to know what your favourite feature is, comment below!

"Conceptually, the architectural composition of the home sits in a u-shape formation, flanking the pool as the centrepiece and integrating the indoor and outdoor spaces with ease. The luxury of a northern orientation floods the open plan living spaces with an abundance of natural light, including the underground basement where light dances through via a landscaped glass atrium that falls from the main entrance." says McKimm

We featured this stunning home on our instagram this week and you all LOVED it - the response was so incredible and you all wanted to see more, so here it is.

Behold the Elwood House by Pipkorn Kilpatrick, which features stunning landscape design by Kate Patterson Landscapes... and what an absolute beauty, I could easily spend my days lounging around in this beautifully thought out home.

Pipkorn Kilpatrick says: "Our inspiration was the main house - a beautifully kept, originally ornate Californian bungalow. We wanted to compliment its beauty without trying to mock or compete so for the pool-house, the design was a simple form with clean lines and a pitched roof to accommodate storage. The feel is raw and relaxed with smooth concrete floors with exposed aggregate running into the stone tiles that surround the pool, large timber joists with exposed steel support and enormous aluminium sliding doors that disappear into the wall cavity. The theme is replicated in the dining room - panelled raked ceiling with the same sheer curtains dropping from a concealed pelmet cavity and soft Terrazzo tiles with large sliding doors - and in the fireplace/bbq with its clean lines, textured natural blue stone and bbq bench area concealed behind. We love way the dining room sits happily against the backdrop of the original house, showing off and enhancing its iconic features without competing."
