StylecraftHOME'S new Melbourne Showroom...

StylecraftHOME Melbourne is set to become a new favourite destination for premium residential furniture, lighting and accessories.

StylecraftHOME launched in February 2017 in Sydney with the opening of its first dedicated showroom. The design community quickly embraced StylecraftHOME as a first choice for luxurious furniture and lighting, spurring the rapid growth and development of the brand and the opening of a second StylecraftHOME showroom in Melbourne CBD.

Centrally located on Flinders Lane and surrounded by other exclusive luxury retailers, StylecraftHOME is in the historic building that has long been home to Stylecraft. Having expanded upward into the building, the StylecraftHOME residential collection is displayed on the lower two levels, and Stylecraft’s commercial collection on the three floors above.

HASSELL designed the fit out, adapting the airy, blush-toned aesthetic of the Sydney showroom to the character of the iconic building and Melbourne design community. Described as luxe industrial, the space features a portico with copper archways that encircles the central staircase and evokes a European courtyard. Gold bannisters are draped with greenery, floors are terrazzo and white mesh screens define more intimate settings.

“StylecraftHOME offers us the opportunity to delve deeper into our international and local collections to feature otherwise unseen pieces alongside familiar classics reimagined for the home environment,” says Tony Russell, StylecraftHOME Brand Director.

The new Melbourne showroom is located at 145 Flinders Lane, Melbourne.

IN BED opens flagship store in Paddington...

IN BED STORE PADDINGTON

Launching in 2013, Sydney based homewares & lifestyle label IN BED create thoughtful home essentials for everyday life. Inspired by creative people and homes from all over the globe, IN BED focuses on classic, utilitarian products made to be lived in and loved for years to come.

And this month they opened the doors of their first retail flagship store in Paddington, Sydney. The concept store brings the label’s eCommerce site and much loved journal to life. The space invites customers to step inside and feel at ease, simultaneously offering a sense of discovery and intimacy similar to that of entering the home of a new friend for the first time.

“Our aim was to create a destination that is warm, welcoming and character filled but still elevated. A space that makes you want to linger, enjoy and drink it in. A space to inspire”, explains founder Pip Vassett.

The interior design is the result of a collaborative process between IN BED and long-time co-conspirators and friends We are Triibe, and was inspired by the vast array of past Journal features, IN BED campaigns and the homes of real, creative people (an inspiration for the label since its inception).

"We worked with our long time friends and collaborators We Are Triibe on the design of the store. Our aim was for the space to feel like walking into a friends home, allowing our customers to feel a sense of warmth and familiarity. We want to encourage our customers to hang out, linger and explore." Pip Vassett, founder and director of IN BED.

“We incorporated carefully selected natural materials that are layered through the kitchen, dining and living areas of the store with a variety of timbers through wall panelling and custom joinery. We also used Olive green textured tiles for the point of sale and bathroom area to further apply the natural palette”, explains design duo We are Triibe.

The design is cosy, warm and works with the space’s existing natural light, which floods the store through a glass wall and exposes a striking leafy view from the treetops outside. One of the focal points of the store is a custom made dining table built from camphor laurel timber which was hand selected, milled and created in order to retain its natural beauty (by the joiner commissioned for the store, Exit Eighty Six), whilst another is the refurbished staircase with it’s curved railing rendered in a textured paint to differentiate it from the warm and muted tones used elsewhere.

A full range of IN BED’s bedding, bath, kitchen & home textiles, as well as a thoughtful curation of items from brands such as Walk In The Park, Wingnut & Co, Henry Wilson and Tara Burke are available in store.

"We are excited to be able to meet and directly communicate with our customers through our Bricks and Mortar space and receiving immediate feedback and responses to products. We also look forward to hosting in store events and workshops for our customers in the near future, allowing us to strengthen and personalise our relationships with our customers even more." Pip Vassett, founder and director of IN BED.

KOALA - Introducing a bed base that’s beautiful, strong and simple to assemble.

Dot + Pop KOALA

Our favourite KOALA mattress in a box has released a bed base and it’s SO GOOD! When you pick a KOALA bed base you don’t have to choose between beautiful, durable and affordable as this baby is all three! Koala has spent two years developing their first bed base which treats your mattress right… each panel of the bed platform is precisely cut timber, with ventilation that ensures airflow and the perfect sleep environment for your mattress. It’s made strong to last long the test of time, inspired by nature's technology and engineered from 100% recyclable natural timber. It can handle weights of up to 600kg and remains supportive for years to come, no matter how many times you move it.

Dot + Pop KOALA

The design is aesthetically pleasing (we give it a big thumbs up!) and we love that it has integrated smart storage solutions. The bedhead is positioned so you can tuck extra pillows and blankets out of sight when you’re not using them, it has ‘cable holes’ built in to keep your cables hidden and devices charged, all within your arm's reach.

Their oversized platform design is a thing of luxury, it gives the illusion that your bed is floating in space and at just the right height. Currently the base is available in both Queen and King sizes and is compatible with all mattresses.

Dot + Pop Koala Bed Base

When your koala bed base arrives it’s so easy to assemble, it literally takes 4 minutes to build! Each box is labelled, has large clear instructions, it is tool-free to assemble, it’s slat-free and comes together just like a jigsaw puzzle in under 4 minutes. It's simple for one person to assemble (although I did get a little help!) and is durable enough to build again and again.

Koala offer a 120-night trial – so if you don’t absolutely fall in love they will pick it up and give you a full refund. It has a 5-year warranty and when you purchase a bed base they adopt a REAL KOALA with the WWF and you will receive the cutest Koala toy and adoption certificate – now if that doesn’t make you want one of these babies I don’t know what will!

So far Koala have adopted 37,000 Koalas, planted over 5000 trees’ and have donated over $500K to charities – and that’s another reason why we love them!
