This season Oon goes bolder and brighter with their latest collection entitled 'Falgun'. Falgun is the Nepalese calendar month synonymous with the big colour festival 'holi' which is held at the beginning of each spring. The collection is inspired by the ideals of the festival - both the experience  and the observance. The colours of 'holi' are bright, contrasting, fun and joyous and that is exactly what the 'Falgun' collection embodies.

We love Oon's use of geometric patterns and tailored stitching, which are paired back with the use of natural textures, simple structures and organic shapes. Throughout the range their is a juxtaposition of carefully considered textures all perfectly complementing each other.

The AW18 Collection is all about celebrating colour by encouraging the use of bold colours, mixing and matching patterns and shapes and making a statement with interiors.

Oon continue to stay true to their core values by using traditional techniques, such as 'kantha' stitching from India, while always adding a touch of their signature contemporary style and edge.

Featuring shags, tailored stitching and organic shapes alongside muted shades of hazelnut, soft pink, navy with dashes of red and gold, we just know that you are going to love this range just as much as we do!

Styling & Creative direction: We Are Triibe

IN BED x Triibe have launched their latest collaboration, an exclusive linen range in the beautiful earthy colourway Tobacco, and it is nothing short of dreamy... and can we please talk about the breathtakingly beautiful back drop?!

The range embodies Triibe’s and IN BED’s similar aesthetic, resulting in the wonderful warm, rich and earthy tone of tobacco. It is classic yet bold at the same time and can completely transform a bedroom space, which follows Triibe’s ambition to reinvent people’s spaces through design, interiors and styling.

This stunning campaign was shot by photographer Terence Chin at an intimate private residence on the Central Coast NSW, about 1.5 hours out of Sydney. The space is a separate guest house from the main residence and has a rustic European feel to it, almost transporting the guests to the French countryside when entering the building.

The Tobacco colour comes in sets and separates - SHOP at We Are Triibe here or IN BED here.

Interior Trend Predictions for 2018... by Lucy Given from LUC. Design Store

Lucy Given is one busy lady. Not only is she paving the way for homeware interiors at her amazing LUC. design store in Hobart, she was also recently named the first ever ‘Retailer of the Year’ at the 2017 Gift and Life Instyle Awards.

Having over 25 years experience in both commercial and residential interior design and retail - Lucy knows a thing or two about what’s happening in the industry, on a national and international scale. This makes Lucy the perfect person to lead several education sessions at Reed Gift Fairs in Melbourne this August. Each session is tailored specifically to those within this ever-growing industry.

In preparation for the Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne event, Lucy has shared some of her professional interior trend predictions for spring/summer 18 with us... scroll down!

Scandinavian influences – this is an interior trend that has continued to flourish and evolve over the years. Interior trends for 2018 will combine Scandinavian designs with a much more paired back sensibility. This will include the use of vintage/timeless elements (think classic furniture and lighting from the 60’s and 70’s) teamed with a touch of glamour in metal, leather or glass  – creating a sense of comfort and luxury in the home. There will be less of the pale timbers and soft greys this season, and more walnut, natural leather and textural hides.

The return of colour – trending across the industry is the return of bold colour choices and the resurgence of layers and textures. There is a shift in the shades of colours we are used to seeing and a move toward earthy tones, metallics and shiny surfaces that reflect a sense of luxury and wealth. You can also expect to see lots of pink trending this season and more specifically millennial pink. Green will continue to remain a strong trend, however it will take on softer shades of sage, soft pastel celery and avocado. Dark interiors dominate with moody greys and intense blues - which makes me very happy.

The mix of colours with textures – this season we will continue to see the pairing of colours and textures, which includes velvet and natural textiles that will be emulated throughout linens and wools. Along with this, there will be an inclusion of leather, metal accents, concrete and glass mixed with other natural elements such as plants, timbers, stone and textural fabrics.

Marble and natural stone – Expect to see the pairing of marble and natural stone this season, with black being the new white when it comes to marbling. Keep an eye out for stone finishes and tones of grey and black, along with thin profiles in bench and table tops. Black kitchens will also become huge.

All of these trends and more will be showcased at Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne in August 2017. http://www.reedgiftfairs.com.au

The worlds most luxurious organic sheets... Introducing Jonquil

Founder - Sasha Zaman    Photography: Mike Baker | Styling: Heather Nette King

Founder - Sasha Zaman

Photography: Mike Baker | Styling: Heather Nette King

Melbourne based luxury, ethical and sustainable bedding brand, Jonquil, has launched their first collection today, 26th July 2017 and it is absolutely beautiful...so do yourself a favour and check it out in all it's loveliness!

Jonquil specialises in the highest achievable quality of certified organic cotton all while maintaining exemplary ethical standards. This brand is paving the way for the bedding industry to bring thoughtfully crafted certified organic luxury to the homewares scene.

The collection of timeless designs will compliment any bedroom scheme and add a touch of luxury to your bedroom setting. Jonquil pieces take pride in the “heirloom” quality of the bedding that would last for a lifetime with appropriate care.

“We want people to not only have products with high quality material, but also something that’s stylish and provides a sense of luxury,” says Zaman.

The first limited release will come in three collections: the Plissè collection, the Hotel collection and the Signature Crochet collection. Each of the three released collections, represent a story or a personal experience.

The Plissè collection features structure, depth and detail. This design is personal to Zaman as she pays tribute to her mother.

The Hotel collection on the other hand, replicates her experience of sliding into a luxurious bed after spending a few days hiking through the ranges in Nepal and India.

The Signature Crochet collection takes an inspirational spin on the work and depth of calligraphy in Rajasthan India.

“We're becoming a fast-paced society, I'm guilty of it too. And we don't ever just stop, or slow down to appreciate the small things in life. Jonquil designs make you want to slow down and appreciate the detail not just visually, but also by touch. Every pleat, fold and stitch is unique to that one piece,” says Zaman.

Jonquil directly sources its 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton from five Fairtrade certified mills across Kolkata and New Delhi. With these partnerships, Jonquil can provide fair employment for the farmers, sewers and seamstresses that dedicate their lives to the cultivation and creation of Jonquils cotton bed linen.

Sasha Zaman started on the Jonquil journey three years ago. While picking out her sheets to dress her bedroom, she became aware of the poor production practices in the textile industry and high use of chemicals in what she believed to be luxury sheets.

This naturally progressed to Sasha creating a product that embodied everything that she believed luxury bedding should encompass – high quality, ethically made and free from unnecessary harmful toxins. Sasha spent years sourcing for the right farms and people to work with– personally making trips to India to ensure that the entire supply chain from seed to yarn to finished products were certified organic and Fairtrade.

Over 1000 people are supported through Jonquils supply chain. “We are a generation that are educated and socially aware. We should no longer allow large corporations to exploit small communities, workers, the environment and animals. By maintaining high-quality standards for workers and high-quality growing practices for the cotton and textile industry, we all benefit in the present and in the future,” says Zaman.

Jonquil’s products are available online to Australian and New Zealand customers. They seek to go global in the near future.

Sunday Minx launches 'Deco District Collection'...

Sunday Minx has unveiled their newest collection 'Deco District' which captures their principles of colour, vibrancy and design. Superbly designed and crafted by Brooke Rudzis, the new range includes Bath Towels, Hand Towels and newly introduced Bath Mats.

Sunday Minx’s collection has been inspired by the unique interpretation of Art Deco found in South Beach Miami. It is a city that blends traditional art deco design and sophistication with the fun, frivolity and tropics of a coastal community, making it an epicentre of Art Deco Architecture and restoration. Intricate lines and elegant geometry of the Art Deco era helps to create a collection that blends pure Gatsby glamour with tropical chic!

Sunday Minx Towels set the benchmark for intelligent design and will stand the test of time. Made in Turkey using 100% Turkish cotton, each towel is a thick and luxurious terry towel of 600gsm.

Brooke says, ‘Turkish cotton is an incredible material. Delivering amazing softness, excellent absorbency and fast drying fibers, we knew this was the superior cotton we needed to source for our collection. Our towels are a delightful luxury to touch and use everyday!’

The Good Sheet....

Styling and Photography DOT + POP

Styling and Photography DOT + POP

I think we all know that jumping into bed with fresh clean sheets is one of the best things in the world... and The Good Sheet has you covered with the softest most luxurious sheets and sheet sets going around.

The Good Sheet is an Australian online luxury bed linen basics store established in Hobart, Tasmania in November 2016. The Good Sheet produces high quality Egyptian Cotton percale bed linen with a minimalist aesthetic made in Israel from Oeko-tex certified fabric.

The Good Sheet was created to make simple, beautiful, premium bedding basics affordable to everyone, not just a select few. I was lucky enough to trial the Percale Quilt Cover Set in Stone and can I just say that it was one of the best nights sleep I had had in a while... they are super soft, luxurious to touch and look absolutely divine, and I just love having a matching sheet set and doona cover, such an effortlessly put together look for your bedroom. See above image for how I styled my new bed linen.

The owner, Kamila Scholz says “We wanted to go back to basics with The Good Sheet and create affordable luxury bed linen that is clean, simple and versatile.  Better sheets means better sleep and that’s something that should be accessible to everyone”.

To simplify the shopping experience, the range is curated to be smaller but better by offering sheet sets or bed sets without the flat sheet (as so many people don’t use one), with the option of adding it on. All of their products are also available separately and they offer a 100 night trial, free fabric swatches and free shipping Australia-wide... how great is that?!

Time for bed I think... z z z

Hunting for George transform converted warehouse apartment for the launch of their newest collection 'Welcome Home'...

Shot on location in a converted Gas Regulating House in North Melbourne, Hunting for George's latest collection 'Welcome Home' is every bit as stunning as the apartment itself!

New textiles from Hunting for George feature new materials including linen, chambray, quilting, wool and leather together with their signature pure cotton. There are many stand out pieces in the collection so it’s hard to pick favourites, but some of my picks are the Polar Quilt Cover Set with diagonal quilting. The Sunday Wool Blanket made from 100% wool and the luxurious Leo Navy Leather Cushion, a dreamy deep blue leather cushion with detailed piping.

The newbies in linen include Quilt Cover Sets, Standard and Euro Pillowcases and Tableware in classic White and Charcoal. And their newest must haves are the Leather cushion accessories which are available in Tan and Navy.

The Oliver Coffee Table makes its debut as the latest addition in the Hunting for George Oliver furniture range, all Australian made and available in soft white and matte black.

Complementing the all new linen tableware, sees the launch of Hunting for George Ceramics, handmade in Melbourne and available in 3 different products: Planter, Tumbler and Espresso Cup Set.

“We fell in love with this apartment. It’s height, grandeur and age were so welcoming. The open floor plan allowed us the freedom to transform the entire home and tell a comprehensive story. We have a extensive range of products for all areas of the home and we really wanted to showcase this.” Lucy Glade-Wright, Brand Director
