We absolutely love Sly's latest offering and it's dusty pastel hues, brass detailing and the material of the moment terrazzo of course!!

Interior Trend Predictions for 2018... by Lucy Given from LUC. Design Store

Lucy Given is one busy lady. Not only is she paving the way for homeware interiors at her amazing LUC. design store in Hobart, she was also recently named the first ever ‘Retailer of the Year’ at the 2017 Gift and Life Instyle Awards.

Having over 25 years experience in both commercial and residential interior design and retail - Lucy knows a thing or two about what’s happening in the industry, on a national and international scale. This makes Lucy the perfect person to lead several education sessions at Reed Gift Fairs in Melbourne this August. Each session is tailored specifically to those within this ever-growing industry.

In preparation for the Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne event, Lucy has shared some of her professional interior trend predictions for spring/summer 18 with us... scroll down!

Scandinavian influences – this is an interior trend that has continued to flourish and evolve over the years. Interior trends for 2018 will combine Scandinavian designs with a much more paired back sensibility. This will include the use of vintage/timeless elements (think classic furniture and lighting from the 60’s and 70’s) teamed with a touch of glamour in metal, leather or glass  – creating a sense of comfort and luxury in the home. There will be less of the pale timbers and soft greys this season, and more walnut, natural leather and textural hides.

The return of colour – trending across the industry is the return of bold colour choices and the resurgence of layers and textures. There is a shift in the shades of colours we are used to seeing and a move toward earthy tones, metallics and shiny surfaces that reflect a sense of luxury and wealth. You can also expect to see lots of pink trending this season and more specifically millennial pink. Green will continue to remain a strong trend, however it will take on softer shades of sage, soft pastel celery and avocado. Dark interiors dominate with moody greys and intense blues - which makes me very happy.

The mix of colours with textures – this season we will continue to see the pairing of colours and textures, which includes velvet and natural textiles that will be emulated throughout linens and wools. Along with this, there will be an inclusion of leather, metal accents, concrete and glass mixed with other natural elements such as plants, timbers, stone and textural fabrics.

Marble and natural stone – Expect to see the pairing of marble and natural stone this season, with black being the new white when it comes to marbling. Keep an eye out for stone finishes and tones of grey and black, along with thin profiles in bench and table tops. Black kitchens will also become huge.

All of these trends and more will be showcased at Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne in August 2017. http://www.reedgiftfairs.com.au

Hunting for George transform converted warehouse apartment for the launch of their newest collection 'Welcome Home'...

Shot on location in a converted Gas Regulating House in North Melbourne, Hunting for George's latest collection 'Welcome Home' is every bit as stunning as the apartment itself!

New textiles from Hunting for George feature new materials including linen, chambray, quilting, wool and leather together with their signature pure cotton. There are many stand out pieces in the collection so it’s hard to pick favourites, but some of my picks are the Polar Quilt Cover Set with diagonal quilting. The Sunday Wool Blanket made from 100% wool and the luxurious Leo Navy Leather Cushion, a dreamy deep blue leather cushion with detailed piping.

The newbies in linen include Quilt Cover Sets, Standard and Euro Pillowcases and Tableware in classic White and Charcoal. And their newest must haves are the Leather cushion accessories which are available in Tan and Navy.

The Oliver Coffee Table makes its debut as the latest addition in the Hunting for George Oliver furniture range, all Australian made and available in soft white and matte black.

Complementing the all new linen tableware, sees the launch of Hunting for George Ceramics, handmade in Melbourne and available in 3 different products: Planter, Tumbler and Espresso Cup Set.

“We fell in love with this apartment. It’s height, grandeur and age were so welcoming. The open floor plan allowed us the freedom to transform the entire home and tell a comprehensive story. We have a extensive range of products for all areas of the home and we really wanted to showcase this.” Lucy Glade-Wright, Brand Director

The philosophy behind Reverie is the importance of not quitting your daydream but embracing it. Be brave, be a dream-chaser and get swept away in it.

Lo & Co. Interiors...

Lo & Co. Interiors brilliantly blurs the boundaries between art and design. Heralded as Australia’s destination for exotic homewares and tableware; the collection includes vases, planters, marble tables, trays, occasional furniture, glass wear, cushions, throws, candles and candle holders which are sourced from both around the globe and designed in-house. The collection is a beautiful balance between high-shine, brass, feathers, leathers and marble that helps translate classic indulgence into a sleek modern setting. This season their range is a little moodier and features seasonal products and one-off limited treasures.

Discover a treasure-trove of homewares on their online store and add individuality to your décor with finely-crafted pieces that deliver effortless but well considered style.

Nood Co... Concrete Furniture and Homewares

Nood Co is a brand new concrete design company created by Matt & Kim, who you will remember from The Block Sky High. Their absolutely stunning concrete range encompasses sinks and vanity sets, indoor/outdoor tables, coffee and side tables, mirrors, stools and a large collection of homewares.

And can we please talk about the divine colour palette... pastel peach sink anyone? There are seven colours in the range: Charcoal, Mid Tone Grey, Ivory, Pastel Peach, Blush Pink, Mint and Copan Blue.

Keep scrolling to see all the pretty concrete things that you didn't even know you wanted!

"We believe personality, whimsy and a playful approach should be part of all product design. Our company tagline is “Hold Your Colour”.  What we mean by that is to own who you are and own what you represent. To make it matter, both in life or in design."

"Our concrete products are stronger, thinner, more designed, more colourful, more water tolerant and most importantly more affordable."

Lumiere’s Art & Co has launched a new collection that is just divine. Named 'Elanora' it means place beside the sea and it was shot on location in at their new Lumiere Art + Co. House on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.

The house is a unique property that is furnished and styled completely with Lumiere's Emma Cleine's textiles and art, all designed and made by her. Incredibly you can now rent this beautiful property and as of 2017 Emma will be offering workshops from here too... time to get your creative juices flowing!

I made and designed every artwork and textile in this home for this home. I mostly loved designing the girls room with the bunk bed. The double sided quilts and artwork I made for this room with strong line and painterly florals mark a new direction for Lumiere, however, its still so true to my style and aesthetic,” said Emma.

The collection ranges from art to textiles and is as colourful, intricate and beautiful as always.
