This beautiful home was designed by Architect Madeline Blanchfield and is located in Sydney's Clovelly. It has sweeping ocean views, an incredible amount of windows which bathes the home in natural light, the most beautiful textures, materials, fittings and fixtures and just has an overall sense of softness that I have fallen in love with.

We have the biggest interior crush on Mim Design and love love love everything that they do and create.. their attention to detail, material selection and all round amazingness blows us away each and every project they do.

Our current fave is their JBC residence in Brighton, Victoria which saw the complete rebuild of an Edwardian 1930’s home. It was a collaboration between Mim Design and architecture firm, Nixon Tulloch Fortley.

'The interior reflects the clients requirement for a light, bright and easy living home. Contrasts through texture, form and material were essential in melding original details with new additions.'

Makers Collective POP UP SHOP in Richmond...

Makers Collective is a new pop-up store brought to you by furniture brands Felix Furniture and Beeline Design. The concept is a curated space showcasing both of their collections alongside a distinctive range of other Melbourne-made homewares.

Felix Furniture and Beeline Design first met while exhibiting alongside one another at a trade show and knew that their furniture worked well together when people kept mistaking their individual stands for a joint one. “We found our styles were quite similar and that our pieces complimented one another really well.” Says Antonia Morrongiello from Felix Furniture. With the same appreciation for high quality, locally made furniture, the duos joined forces to create Makers Collective in Richmond.

The decision to open up on the once bustling precinct of Bridge Road was an easy one, whilst the strip has seen a number of closures in recent years; “We feel it is going through a regeneration, redefining its identity and we are excited to be a part of it.” Says Antonia.

“Our vision for Makers Collective was to create a welcoming space that showcases some of the best local talent that Melbourne has to offer. We wanted a space where we could not only display our respective ranges but also compliment them with great pieces from local brands we loved” says Lucy Grant from Beeline Design.

And compliment they do, with their use of blonde timbers, natural leather and pastel tones. The space takes on a gallery feel, with the walls exhibiting original prints from Love Your Space and artworks by Jessie Rigby, who created a collection especially to compliment the furniture ranges.

Makers Collective also has a mix of up-and-coming brands including Rachel Bainbridge resin wares, Hide & Co leather goods, Capra resin pots, Soktas lighting, alongside established names such as, 3Square cushions, Uimi knitwear, and Luum pots.

“There are so many incredible local small business’ in Melbourne, we really wanted to be able to give them a platform where they are not competing with imported goods and really shine a spotlight on the amount of talent we have at our fingertips.”  Says Antonia.

The Makers Collective Pop Up will be open at 134 Bridge Road Richmond until July.

Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 4:30pm  Sunday 11am - 4pm.

Finally someone has done it... Beach pillows by CAIA

The thing that I have always wanted and needed... a beach pillow!!! Global lifestyle brand CAIA has launched their range of innovative and vibrant waterproof beach pillows in Australia - they are designed to bring easy and stylish comfort to the beach this Summer.

Launched in 2012 overseas, CAIA was born from designer Ines Fortunato’s personal search for a beach pillow that would be not only practical, comfortable and resistant to the seaside elements, but also beautiful. Finding nothing on the market that met her needs, Fortunato developed an innovative and unique design of her own.

With a strong focus on design, quality and endurance, these pillows are crafted from a waterproof plasticised-cotton cover and polyester stuffing and to ensure a lasting, watertight finish, the seams are fully-stitched. Each beach pillow comes with a practical, clip-on nautical rope, for ease of carrying anywhere you go.

The designs feature bold patterns and vibrant hues with a variety of exclusive designs that are sure to meet the taste of any beach-goer.

My top picks are below... now it's time hit the beach!

Futah Beach Towels...

With summer on its way and everyone gearing up to hit the beach what better time to discover the beautiful beach towel range FUTAH! Based in Portugal, Futah offers up an array of vibrant, carry-with-ease cotton beach towels that was born from a desire to create a towel that is “equal parts light, absorbent, resistant and unlike any other”.

Inspired by Turkish bath towels, Futah reinvigorated the traditional design, evolving the fabric composition and developing original and exclusive patterns and colours. Made from 100% Egyptian cotton, Futahs have a lightweight design making them not only compact and easily transportable, but supremely absorbent, fast-drying and resistant to salt water and high levels of sunshine.

Their latest collection entitles ‘All we need is Freedom’ has just launched in Australia and their inspiration behind the collection is freedom. They designed this latest collection for the free-spirited and bohemian, for whom summer is not just a season, but a year-round destination. And for all of us interiors addicts out there, our love of design and composition extends way beyond the insides of our homes, so having the most stylish towel on the beach is obviously a must!

Freedom is what turns our life into an adventure and allows us to unearth new cultures, colours and patterns. It allows us to see the sun in different sizes, use sign language to communicate, and understand that laughter is the truest universal language. Accepting of what makes us different, freedom is what brings us together…. When we have that freedom, nothing else matters.”

Drawing inspiration from their home shores in Portugal, each towel is named after a beach in Portugal and is available in a range of colours and patterns. With designs ranging from vibrant shades and eclectic patterns to understated nautical stripes, and with styles in both single (100 x 190cm) and double (190 x 190) sizes, there is a Futah for everyone and every occasion.

So pack you bag and head to the beach with your new beach towel to soak up the sunshine, swim the ocean and enjoy all that life has to offer!
